Why I Cook the Way I Do….
Hi! My name is Kat. Here’s a picture with my husband, Tim.
Welcome to my Healthy Cooking Page!
Years ago, as a young wife & Mother, I learned many tricks of the trade.
Made all the richest dishes…sauces…baked the yummiest deserts.
Though it was popular with friends & family, I’m not sure I was really doing them the greatest service with all of the unhealthy ingredients that were added.
Today, I have simplified.
I rarely buy any boxed or canned (processed) foods. I try to keep it as simple as possible.
I try to eat the way I think God designed for us to eat, naturally, with everything he gave us from His fertile earth; using as little man made ingredients as possible.
I am not a vegetarian and I do eat meat. I’m not a big fan of store bought meat and try to use organic meats when I can afford it, or when my son graces us with something wild he got on a hunt i.e, venison, bear etc.
The dishes here are not rocket science, nor are they tremendously original. I like to throw all of the healthiest foods together and see what comes of it. YOU CAN DO THIS TOO! With a little creativity, anybody can. These are just a few ideas for you to begin with.
When you cook like this amounts cease to matter so much, so you won’t find a lot of measuring in these recipes. I hope to encourage your creativity. Try to picture yourself on a deserted island with abundant natural foods all around you, but no measuring cups, measuring spoons etc. You would just start throwing things together. Right? And oh how healthy it would all be. You’d lose pound after pound on a deserted island, weather you needed to or not. Especially since there wouldn’t be any man made processed foods available, so try to avoid them as much as possible!
Be sure to check out my non-recipe guides to Overall Good Health and Tips & Tricks as well!
I would venture to guess that my meals are 90% healthy, and 10% not so healthy. Perhaps I’ll get better in time, but I have come a long way baby!
What a wonderful concept. I think it’s a great way to cook and live. I’m getting all my friends and associates to check out your page and try these fun & easy cooking ideas. Just wondering…What does “bear” taste like?
You know…it tastes a lot like beef to me! Esp if you clean it properly (get every single little piece of hair off! ) Thank you for the compliments
